About Ratanui Lodge
Welcome to our beachside retreat
Situated beside the stunning Pohara beach, Ratanui Lodge is the perfect destination for your holiday to Golden Bay.
Our newly refurbished Lodge is contemporary, stylish, and comfortable and includes a welcoming restaurant and lounge bar which is open to the public 7 days for breakfast, cocktails and dinner.
Whether your day is spent lounging on Pohara beach which is just across the road, or meandering through the artist galleries in Takaka, there is plenty to do in the region. For all you active explorers, we are located near to the northern end of the Abel Tasman National Park and within easy driving distance of some of Golden Bay’s stunning natural attractions such as Te Waikoropupu Springs, Wainui Falls and World Heritage site Farewell Spit.
The Lounge Bar
Our lounge bar features a collection of local beer & cider as well as a deadly collection of Gin cocktails and wines.
Restaurant
Our restaurant specializes in fresh, seasonal food utilizing our local producers where possible. We’re open from 8am-10am for breakfast and 4pm-close for dinner and drinks 7 days a week! Pop on down for some tapas, a full cooked meal or join us for breakfast beside the beach.

Décor has a contemporary, coastal vibe with high quality natural fabrics and furnishings
The rooms feature several touches by local and top of the South artists and suppliers.
Prints by renowned Golden Bay artist Peter Geen feature in each room and porcelain coffee mugs by Nelson artist Sue Newitt for that much loved cuppa, will ensure that the tea and coffee making supplies are well used! Freshly ground coffee by Nelson based Sublime coffee makes for a great start to your day.
