We have carefully chosen the sites for each of our chicken coops based on our chooks’ preferred browsing activities. Their coops are in a net covered yard offering protection from predators. Each morning after laying they are given free access to the rest of the farm. Each coop is sited adjacent to open pastures on one side and sheltering trees and undergrowth on the other. They have earth for dustbaths, grubs and worms in the rotting vegetation and plenty of space to follow their own individual whims all day.
